The West River Community Center is open 7 days a week. Please view our Facility Hours.
WRCC is CLOSED on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Other holiday hours may vary and will be reflected on the facility hours page.
The drop-in childcare is open Monday through Friday morning and evening along with Saturday mornings. View the childcare hours.
Ages 8 and older are allowed to be in the facility without supervision with the following exceptions:
- Fitness Areas: Must be age 14+. Ages 12-13 are allowed with parental supervision or after passing a facility orientation class. Fitness areas include both levels of cardio/strength equipment along with the group fitness classes.
- Hot Tub: 5 and under are not allowed. Ages 6-12 are allowed with parental supervision.
- Sauna/Steam Room: Must be age 13+.
Memberships may be purchased at the WRCC Control Desk or at the Parks & Recreation Office. At this time, memberships are not available online. A photo and key tag will be issued at time of purchase. View our membership rates.
Memberships must be cancelled by submitting an online cancellation request available on our memberships page or at the Parks & Recreation Office. Please contact the Membership Services Specialist at 701-456-2074 with any questions.
We do offer Facility Orientation classes every other month. Pre-registration is required, see class availability here.
Dickinson Parks & Recreation has a wide variety of youth and adult programs, including swimming lessons, art classes, adult leagues, etc. See a list of all programs here or pick up our seasonal activity guides at the WRCC media rack.
Group fitness classes are included in all WRCC memberships. Drop-ins are welcome for a daily fee. No pre-registration is required (unless specified).
All memberships include access to strength/cardio areas, group fitness classes, gymnasiums, indoor and outdoor pools, track, playground, climbing wall, racquetball and tennis courts.
Not included: Locker rental, towels, tanning, childcare and golf simulator. All are available for additional fees. See our fee schedule for more information.
The pool hours vary throughout the year based on the school year and summer. Please view our current pool schedule here. Make sure to watch for pool hours to be adjusted during aquatic lessons (noted on aquatic schedule).
The Lap Pool is a 25 yard, 8 lane pool (adequate for competitive swimming). 1 mile = 36 laps. Pool depth is 4 ft. to 13 ft.
The Leisure Pool has a zero entry depth with the deepest part (flume area) being 5 ft. The lazy river depth is 3 ft. 6 in. with 54 times around = 1 mile.

Yes, WRCC offers a mobile app that may be downloaded by searching for the West River Community Center in the app stores. The app will enable you to connect to the fitness machines as well as provide push notifications for community center related information. The app also provides the ability to scan in your key tag for mobile entry.
We also have the Dickinson Park District app that provides all information park district wide, including all events, programs and facilities. You may also use this app for mobile entry into WRCC. Search for Dickinson Park District.
