West River Community Center’s group fitness classes and personal trainers promote a culture of fun with no judgments. It is an environment built for all types of individuals with various goals.
All group fitness classes are included in a WRCC membership (unless specified). Drop-ins are welcome for a daily fee. View our Fitness Calendar for days/times offered.
Age Guidelines: All classes are for ages 14+ (unless specified). Ages 12-13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Athletic Training Club
A next level group training program designed to improve strength and athleticism. Program will be formatted to all ability levels and will take place in our new WRCC private personal training space. Hour classes will combine strength, metabolic conditioning, and mobility training while also providing a community atmosphere and personalized interaction with one of our certified personal trainers.

Taekwondo
This is a great introduction to Taekwondo. Kicks, punches and sparring movement and forms are taught. Our classes are a great way to get into shape and more than the average "gym" workout. Classes are fun, yet physically and mentally challenging. You do not have to be in shape to start. Come and reduce stress, build confidence, improve your health and positively impact every area of your life. Adult and children ages 5-14 are welcome. Ages 5-14 must be with a participating adult.

March Fitness Madness
Join us for a fun "March Fitness Madness" Challenge!
2-person teams will compete by attending group fitness classes. The team with the most minutes logged from classes, wins the round and moves on. Everyone will receive “Fitness Madness” swag once the challenge is over.
Teams will be randomly drawn for bracket placement.
Teams will log and keep their info at the WRCC in a binder located at the front desk (labeled “Fitness Madness”). It will be the participating team members responsibility to keep track of their time spent participating in the classes. Each time class minutes are logged, they will also have to be signed off by the class instructor. At the end of each Saturday, team totals will be tallied and winning teams will be notified. A “Fitness Madness” Bracket will be located in the facility for teams to refer to.
Tied Teams will compete on Saturday evening/Sunday afternoon in a tie breaker timed endurance challenge. Think wall sits, planks, etc. Winners will move on.
Forfeiting will result in an automatic loss that week.
Champion team will receive a bundle of WRCC Gift Cards and “Fitness Madness” swag.

No Excuse November Challenge
There is no better time to put your excuses aside and get a hold of your fitness goals. WRCC holds a variety of group fitness classes catered to helping you achieve your goals of a stronger healthier you! The No Excuse November Challenge is here to test your commitment and break through those excuses that may be holding you back. All that is required of you, is to make it 12 classes by Nov. 30th! A mixture of barbell & dumbbell weight training; a class with an emphasis on muscle development and definition. Combined with motivating music and knowledgeable instructors, you'll be sculpting a lean body and reaping the benefit of strength training all in one!

Yoga
Yoga is perfect for anyone, at any age, and for any body type. Yoga offers low impact stretching sequences that work to increase flexibility of the muscles. The breath is utilized to clear the mind and relax the body. Instruction is given on how to make the pose work best for you. -All Levels

The TRX Suspension Trainers offer the ultimate full body workout. You control the intensity and the resistance of each exercise. The class incorporates cardio & strength training. -All Levels

SilverSneakers Classic
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers® ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. This class can be adapted by the participant depending on their fitness level and abilities. -Beginner-Intermediate

Aqua Aerobics takes place in the shallow area of the leisure pool and offers a low-impact workout that is easy on the joints. Kids Fit
Kids Fit is back! Effective September 6th, Kids Fit will resume with our normal schedule of Wednesdays at 9:15 am.
Join us for Kids Fit!
Kids ages 3-5 will spend time engaging in activities that will help them develop their gross motor skills, such as walking on a balance beam, jumping, and crawling. We will also spend time learning about colors, numbers, or animals. We kindly ask that parents join in during class time to help your child(ren) gain as much as possible from our program.
