West River Community Center’s group fitness classes and personal trainers promote a culture of fun with no judgments. It is an environment built for all types of individuals with various goals.
All group fitness classes are included in a WRCC membership (unless specified). Drop-ins are welcome for a daily fee. View our Fitness Calendar for days/times offered.
Age Guidelines: All classes are for ages 14+ (unless specified). Ages 12-13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Wall Pilates
In this variation of traditional Pilates, you press up against a wall (with your feet, arms, back or side) to practice squats, planks, etc. using the wall and your body weight to add resistance gravity.

Pilates consists of moving through a series of slow sustained exercises using abdominal controls and proper breathing. Pilates is great for improving stability, balance, strength and control.

SilverSneakers Yoga
Seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Cycle 360
This indoor cycle class incorporates all aspects of cycling, but with a twist! The class is divided into intervals of cardio on the bike; resistance training for the upper and lower body, and of course, core work. Expect a full body workout!

Heart & Sole Walking Challenge
Walking is one of best exercises older adults can do for balance, cardiovascular health, and weight loss. Walking can also boost your mood and increase your energy, stamina, and memory. We invite all adults 50+ to join us on a walk with a planned route, a predetermined pace, with a set time period. Your instructor will guide you through a warm up before as well as a post walk stretch. All levels are welcome.
Program is offered June, July & August on Tuesdays at 8:45 am at the Leisure Park Trail - located around the West River Community Center. Participants will meet in the MAC gymnasium.

Walking Bingo Challenge
Join us for a a fun walking challenge during the summer and play BINGO at the same time!
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bingo participants must register at the front desk to receive a Bingo Card. Registration is FREE for members.
- Participants will be responsible for marking their own squares with honesty.

- One square is allowed to be marked, per walk. Example: “Enjoy an evening walk with a friend” & “Take a walk after supper” cannot be marked off for the same walk. We want to challenge you to take a different walk each day!
- At the end of the challenge participants will turn in their Bingo boards at the front desk where they will be collected and checked for eligibility to enter the drawing for a Grand Prize!

Taekwondo
This is a great introduction to Taekwondo. Kicks, punches and sparring movement and forms are taught. Our classes are a great way to get into shape and more than the average "gym" workout. Classes are fun, yet physically and mentally challenging. You do not have to be in shape to start. Come and reduce stress, build confidence, improve your health and positively impact every area of your life. Adult and children ages 5-14 are welcome. Ages 5-14 must be with a participating adult.

No Excuse November Challenge
There is no better time to put your excuses aside and get a hold of your fitness goals. WRCC holds a variety of group fitness classes catered to helping you achieve your goals of a stronger healthier you! The No Excuse November Challenge is here to test your commitment and break through those excuses that may be holding you back. All that is required of you, is to make it to 3 classes per week or 14 total classes by Nov. 30th! YOU CAN DO IT!

Oula merges high-intensity cardio with easy-to-follow choreography, mindfulness practices, and a culture of inclusivity — all to an energetic pop soundtrack. SilverSneakers Classic
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers® ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. Aqua Aerobics
Aqua Aerobics takes place in the shallow area of the leisure pool and offers a low-impact workout that is easy on the joints. Cycle

Kids Fit
Join us for Kids Fit!
Kids ages 3-5 will spend time engaging in activities that will help them develop their gross motor skills, such as walking on a balance beam, jumping, and crawling. We will also spend time learning about colors, numbers, or animals. We kindly ask that parents join in during class time to help your child(ren) gain as much as possible from our program.
